PHP Programmer and Web Designer

Position: PHP Programmer and Web Designer
Tulix is seeking an enthusiastic, technically proficient team player to assist in the expansion and operation of its Application Design and Development Group located in Atlanta (Buckhead), Georgia. Tulix is a rapidly growing Internet Hosting Application Provider, with over 1,000,000 web sites hosted in shared, dedicated, and enterprise environments. Required Performance:
The PHP Programmer and Web Designer shall design, develop, code, test, implement, document, support and maintain assigned Web applications. This individual will work independently or in a team setting with IT Project Managers, Tech leads, System Developers and Customers to accomplish needs analysis and the resulting application development. Assists other staff in ways to ensure data integrity, consistency, security and privacy. Work with users and others to support assigned systems. Work with IT Project Manager to develop and maintain schedules for assigned projects. Meets deadlines and provides regular progress reports to IT Project Manager. Evaluate, recommends and implements software tools that enhance assigned development efforts. Adhere to organizational policies, standards and best practices in application development, documentation, and maintenance.
Additionally, applicants with Account Management and Customer Support experience will be preferentially considered.
Technical Skills:
Preferred skills include;
- Bachelor's degree preferred. May be waived with strong practical experience.
- Two (2) years minimum years experience in PHP, MySQL, Oracle, HTML, CSS, Javascript, XML, PERL, ColdFusion, Graphics software (Illustrator, Flash, Photoshop) with emphasis on significant experience in complex PHP applications
- Experience with emerging Internet and web-based technologies and with Web-specific performance issues. 2+ years experience with software development, and Java Script required.
- Demonstrated experience with current DBMS technologies and in application database design
- Technical knowledge of all phases of application system analysis and development
- Experience with front-end programming & design, custom web design of secure back-end applications and administrative controls and editing other content management systems or custom web designs to add usability & functionality as requested by customers

Schedule and Benefits:

Inside Sales Representative

Job Description:
Work for an exciting small company directly involved in Web Hosting, Internet E-commerce Software and Web Design. Located in Buckhead in Atlanta, Georgia, Tulix has a proven track record of growth and profitability. We are GROWING! If you want an opportunity to grow with us, then consider our current opening. This position seeks a highly motivated, aggressive Sales person to generate new customer leads and to promote new customer sales of our Hosting services.
This is a technical sales position and requires a technical aptitude and ability to discover the technical requirements of the customer as well as to explain the technical advantages of our products and services. Applicants must be willing and able to work in a direct phone and sales chat environment and must have knowledge of hosting, servers and control panels. Candidate will be able to learn and present company background and package pricing.
Responsibilities:
- To aggressively and independently;
- Develop, market and manage prospect and client relationships in the highest professional manner.
- Consistently meet or exceed unit sales goals.
- Maintain a minimum of 200 telemarketing cold calls a week.
- Effectively generate referrals from customers and other resources and maintain a customer database.
- Be responsible for own lead generation.
- Be responsible for full sales cycle.
- Update and maintain accurate contact database (ACT)
- Generate weekly progress reports
Requirements:
- Interested applicants should possess the following qualities and experience:
- Previous (10+ months)experience with successful phone-only sales and solid previous technical sales track record

System Administrator

Position: System Administrator
Tulix is seeking an enthusiastic, technically proficient team player to assist in the expansion and operation of its Network Operations Center located in Atlanta (Buckhead), Georgia. Tulix is a rapidly growing Internet Hosting and Application Provider, with over 1,000,000 web sites hosted in shared, dedicated, and enterprise environments. Further information on the Company can be found at www.tulix.com. A primary responsibility shall be providing Technical Support for our largest, on location reseller, Tulix (www.tulix.com).
Summary of Position:
First responder for resolving alerts. Monitors and responds to Trouble Ticketing Systems and performs known tasks for responding to tickets. Executes tasks relating to existing tickets. Develop detailed knowledge of the systems and the ability to troubleshoot issues not responding to pre-defined scripts. Must be available for night/weekend shift work Must be available for 24-hour on call support on a rotating basis. Must be able to report to work in inclement weather Will perform any other assigned tasks required to support the success of the Technology group.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and 5+ years in multi-platform environments (Windows, UNIX, Linux) Experience working on a corporate help desk or supporting enterprise applications. Extensive experience creating documentation and operations manuals Demonstrated ability to follow well documented procedures. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multi-task, and work both independently and in teams. Demonstrated strong problem solving and analytical skills. Knowledge of FreeBSD, Linux (Fedora, CentOS), Windows installation, configuration, troubleshooting. Knowledge of Apache, MySQL, PHP, Perl, shell scripting. Knowledge of CPanel. Knowledge of Networking, Cisco based routers and switches. Experience with 24/7 support, Tier 1 and Tier 2.
Work Assignment:
Primary work assignment is Trouble Ticketing generated through Remedy and CPanel.
Secondary work assignments may consist of information gathering and tasks for projects being conducted by Senior staff and the Technology Group.
Other administrative tasks critical to the successful delivery of existing SLAs.
Conduct limited troubleshooting before escalating.
The successful candidate shall perform in the following manner;
1.) Immediate response to alerts and outages of business critical applications:
- Provide first point of contact for the Customer during business and non-business hours to meet agreed upon support and service level agreements.
- Assess issue severity by following pre-defined procedures for assessing tickets.
- Execute pre-defined recovery scripts and intervention for common issues.
- Support escalation within the defined timeframes (meet or exceed SLAs).
- Senior level experience with one or more of the following:
- Windows system support, administration and documentation
- Unix/Linux system support, administration and documentation
- Oracle or SQL support, administration and documentation.
- Arrange to open trouble tickets if called as the first point of contact.
- Gather Information for troubleshooting and assistance when tickets are escalated.
2.) Assist with administrative tasks critical to the success of the Technology Group:
- Creation of supporting documentation for any new services offered, including hardware/software changes, contact info, application process diagrams, escalation procedures, Tier 1,2 recovery scripts
- Proactively recommend improvements in existing procedures and issues.
- Maintain management information database for Data Center operations.
- Generation of standard reports for customers and management.
- Document all items which require change/modification due to out of date documentation, including hardware/software changes, contact info, application process diagrams, escalation procedures, Tier 1,2 recovery scripts
- Generate regular pre-defined reports according to set schedules.
3.) Assist with staff scheduling to cover 24x7x365:
- Activate on-call resources
- Verify adequate staffing to cover Technicians on vacation
- Monitor handoff between shifts and insure continuous coverage
- Maintain all pre/post shift documentation
Schedule and Benefits:
The hours shall be from 9:00am until 6:00pm M-F, and shall also include 24/7 monitoring of the NOC, and "pager" responsibilities on a rotating basis as designated by the NOC Systems Administrator. The System Administrator shall perform in an enthusiastic, proactive manner at all times and shall perform any and all other duties as assigned.
