TULIX LAUNCHES COMMUNITY™ WEB-PUBLISHING PLATFORM
ATLANTA - July 23, 2004, Tulix Systems, Inc. introduced CommunityTM - a web publishing platform for ISP's designed to enable the attraction and retention of subscribers. It allows access providers' customers to build web pages, communicate in a variety of popular formats including chat, message boards, blogs and email, to engage in commerce and offers an on-line matchmaking service as part of its core functionality. One of its most powerful features is that it allows subscribers to use the Web as a virtual network drive, storing and sharing files in any format.
Community™ is the most advanced, powerful and easy to use web publishing suites available today. The application contains variety of templates allowing novice users to build web pages and include photo albums and media galleries that can include popular MP3 and Video formats. Users can add a Weblog or blog to their sites, engage in chat, post messages on a bulletin board and engage in commerce via an online store and auction capabilities. Community also provides a desktop feature with email, calendar, to-do list, weather information and notes.
For more experienced users, the product offers Microsoft FrontPage™ extensions and advanced users can build extremely complex web pages with access to MySQL databases. Community™ also allows a user to map directly to a website so advanced users can access and use it at a virtual drive.
According to Tulix VP Sales and Marketing Paul Flack, "Community™ is targeted to ISPs, cable and Telco's engaged in providing Internet access services. As the name suggests it offers a way for subscribers to create bonds between each other and with their access providers. It is the cyber-equivalent to a home-town coffee shop or other neighborhood gathering place. Its pricing model makes it affordable for smaller ISPs to compete with the offerings of the largest ISPs."
Community™ Version 3.5 has been developed over a period of six years working with large and small ISPs. Speed, reliability and price are the traditional battlefields for ISP marketing, however, Community™ brings an added dimension that ISP's can efficiently promote as a point of differentiation for their services. Its modular nature allows it to attach to virtually any existing ISP start page. Because customers invest time in building and using their web sites, it also endears them and makes them less likely to change providers. Community™ can be used as a source of incremental revenue, or value-added service. It supports the easy implementation of banner advertising, which has proved to be a viable source of ISP income and therefore can be financially self-supporting.
Tulix Systems, Inc. is has recently reformed from its former company HomeCom Communications, Inc. In addition to ASP services the company offers Internet hosting and custom Web application development.
